I’ve always loved hand-knitted clothing – the process, the tactile, comforting nature of a ball of wool, knowing and appreciating the time that goes into each piece, the social aspect of knitting circles, even the sound of the needles clicking together whilst linking the wool to create fabric.

It was this, and the simple pleasure of seeing my children wear the jumpers knitted for them by my mother, along with the keepsake hand-me-downs from my childhood, that led me to create my first children’s collection in 2012 and establish the Hambro & Miller brand.  Since then we’ve expanded to include knitwear for men and women with new styles being added each year.  Drawing on my Scandinavian roots, the pieces are traditional in design and made using the softest 100% baby alpaca yarn, giving incredibly warm, comfortable clothing that will last year after year.

All of the pieces we sell are hand-knitted in the UK.  We have a wonderful team of knitters who, between them, have hundreds of years of experience in the craft, bringing our customers beautifully made clothing. We believe in, and wholly support, the slow fashion movement and pride ourselves on quality over quantity. We place emphasis on sustainable, classic designs and hope our customers will appreciate the time, care and attention to detail that goes into everything we make. In doing so, we hope our knitwear will become treasured pieces to be handed down from generation to generation.
