ABOUT OUR YARN

All of our clothing is hand-knitted using the finest quality 100% baby alpaca yarn or alpaca blends.

Five times warmer than sheep's wool, more luxurious and hard wearing than cashmere, baby alpaca is soft, durable and incredibly warm, holding more thermal capacity than almost any other animal fibre.  Alpaca fibre does not itch as wool often does, because it doesn’t contain lanolin and other oils in the fleece.  Its extraordinary fineness means that alpaca garments are both hypoallergenic and luxuriously soft on your skin.  Excellent for babies, children and adults alike.

GARMENT LAUNDERING

All of our natural wool items should be washed sparingly to preserve their shape, softness, and longevity.

- Wool is naturally odour-resistant, breathable, and has self-cleaning properties, so often just needs airing out between wears
- Wash only when necessary, or when visibly soiled.

Instead of Frequent Washing:

- Air out your knit after each wear by laying it flat in a well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight.
- Use a steamer or hang it in a steamy bathroom to refresh and relax any wrinkles.
- Spot clean small areas rather than washing the whole garment.

When You Do Wash:

- Hand wash in cool or lukewarm water (max 30 degrees) with a gentle wool-specific detergent.
- Avoid wringing or twisting. Gently press out water and lay flat to dry. Do not use a machine to spin out excess water as this will cause shrinkage
- Avoid hot water, machine agitation, or tumble drying, which will cause felting or shrinkage.
- Please not that machine ‘wool/delicate’ wash cycles will cause shrinkage to our garments

Please be aware that over time, all wool will begin to gather lint with use, this is mainly due to the surface becoming worn when rubbed against something else, such as a coat or over garment. Lint/pilling can be easily removed by picking off or using a wool pill remover or comb.

All buttons are securely attached to the garments we sell, however we recommend checking them each time items are washed.
